Hello Sweet WatermelonZ,

I hope you are well on the LAST DAY OF THE YEAR!!

Today on December 31st, I am reflecting on my favourite month of this year.

It’s hard to describe the feeling of being reunited with family when you live in another country.

As we drove to Umbria for Christmas and my brother Liam played great music, all I could think of was…

This is what contentment (Santosha as the Yogis name it) looks like. It was a calm, warm, satisfied feeling deep inside my heart! I feel very lucky to be a part of a very genuine, authentic, no BS, loving family.

In terms of London activities, The Christmas Carols at The Royal Albert Hall (below), brought me so much joy and Christmas spirit, Rosalìa’s concert at the O2 showed me that anything is possible in this world.

Hard work, the command of the room, the confidence, I am sure (apart from the sheer, raw talent that she is) that she has developed herself to this point and has worked so hard and it is incredibly inspiring to observe her at work! AN ICON!

LISTENING

I thought for this month, instead of specific podcast, I would include a list of my top podcasts, they will come to no surprise if you’ve been following me for a while! I’ve never missed an episode of MTGM pod, thanks Joanne and Vogue!

GRATITUDE

I am grateful for my family. Picured below <3

love them all so much!!

READING

Last month I read Eleonor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman - a beautiful book that touches on unfortunate child rearing, loneliness, friendship. Gorgeously writtten!

On a completely different topic I read The Psycopath Test by Jon Ronson - a real page turner about the unfortunate world and consequences of physcopathy. It treats of what could have been a dark topic in a pragmatic and sometimes funny way, speaking of all the different practioners through the ages who have been in charge of “treating” the condition.

I highly reccomend both books if you are looking for something new!

TASTING

My food highlight from the month was home made pasta made by my sister Palma “Ravioli di Zucca” ravioli filled with pumpkin, absolutely amazing, so fresh! and made with so much love for my brother’s birthday.

EVENT OF THE MONTH

Rosalìa’s concert, I went with my friend Claire, we had a blast!

Also (below) couldn’t not incude my vision board that I made, I wish I had a picture of all of us holding them we cut words and images from magazines that we want to include in 2023! It was such a wholesome evening making a little project and attracting nice vibes for the new year, TOGETHER!

PIECE OF THE WEEK

As for my piece of the week, I wanted to celebrate the simple moments that fill us with gratitude. I will now let Seamus Heaney take the floor…

When all the others were away at Mass

I was all hers as we peeled potatoes.

They broke the silence, let fall one by one

Like solder weeping off the soldering iron:

Cold comforts set between us, things to share

Gleaming in a bucket of clean water.

And again let fall. Little pleasant splashes

From each other’s work would bring us to our senses.

So while the parish priest at her bedside

Went hammer and tongs at the prayers for the dying

And some were responding and some crying

I remembered her head bent towards my head,

Her breath in mine, our fluent dipping knives–

Never closer the whole rest of our lives.

-Seamus Heaney
