Watermelon Weekly Wrap #13

Hello Warriors,
Happy Monday!

I haven’t posted my highlights for two weeks as I’ve been on holiday.

We have been recharging the batteries and filling our cup. It’s been revitalising and much needed.

Here is a picture of beautiful Lagos, Portugal at sunrise.

LISTENING

Below is a video of some of Brené Brown’s highlights. 10 gripping, eloquent minutes of wisdom.

I feel stimulated to think differently when I pay attention to what Brown has to say.

Connect with yourself before you can connect with others.

Try to understand others stories instead of projecting your own interpretation of how they could be feeling…

What have you been listening to lately? Please do let me know!

I also loved listening to Joanna Lumley on Table Manners, click below to listen to Table Manners and click on the Brené Brown video if you have time!

TASTING

We had delicious food is Lisbon and Lagos, some homemade and some not. Please see gallery below, but don’t do it if you are hungry!

My restaurant favourite in Lagos was the tuna steak with herb potatoes and veg at Prato Cheio (first pic) and in Lisbon my top choice was A Cevicheria Salmon Ceviche was my fave (third pic) but of course, nothing tasted better than the loving and mouthwatering dishes that Tim prepped in our air b&b.

Oven cooked buttered tigers prawns and linguine with courgettes, tomatoes and mussels - both divine as you can see below! (pics 6 and 7)

Impossible not mention the Pastéis de Nata. Could not get enough, as you can see from my face in the final pic!

GRATITUDE

I feel so lucky that I got the opportunity to go on holiday to a new place with my love, discovering a whole new range of foods, language, a new culture and all the wonderful people we were lucky to encounter along the way…In Lisbon we were there during the festival of Santo Antonio and it was just amazing to see so many people celebrating their city and their traditions with parties all day and night…

All in all, it was all very good for the soul and for the palate!

READING

Still reading 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think by Brianna Wiest, it’s got so many questions I want to answer for myself in my journalling practice so it’s taking longer than expected!

PIECE OF THE WEEK

Thanks for reading. What do you feel grateful for? What did you love last week?

Email me or DM me to let me know last week’s highlights.
