Watermelon Weekly Wrap #4
Hello Warriors,
Happy New Week, New WWW #4!
This past week was full of fun. Dinner with the girls, lots of work & a weekend trip to Bristol to finish off the week!
Every week, I round up my favourite things!
EXPERIENCING
I thoroughly enjoyed exploring Bristol. My highlights being the view on the Clifton Suspension Bridge (above), the Eat a Pitta delicious and healthy falafel (below) and the walk through Clifton Downs Park - so peaceful.
On Tuesday I went to one of my favourite Vinyasa classes at Third Space - Sophie Carroll! It always helps me reset. On Thursday I tried Formula III, so tough but so good!
LISTENING
I discovered a beautifully peaceful album by Moonica Mac called Stark & Sårbar, her voice is Ethereal.
I also listened to this interesting and insightful podcast reccomended by my friend Omar called “Best Friend Therapy” with Elizabeth Day and her best friend Emma Reed Turnell who is a therapist. So many interesting thoughts and theories to listen to.
TASTING
GRATITUDE
Feeling so much gratitude for the days getting brighter.
For finishing work at Third Space and it still being sunny after :)
Feeling grateful for my boyfriend whose love and support is so special.
Feeling grateful for my fabulous friends and colleagues at Third Space. Pictured below.
Feeling thankful for the opportunity to explore a new city at the weekend.
PIECE OF THE WEEK
This week’s piece comes from a brilliant book I mentioned in WWW #1
“The Salt Path” by Raynor Winn
“You thought blackberries had passed, didn’t you? Or you’ve eaten then enough and you didn’t like them. No, you need to wait until the last moment, the moment between perfect and spoilt. The blackbirds know that moment, the moment between perfect and spoilt. The blackbirds know that moment. And if the mist comes right then, laying the salt air gently on the fruit, you have something that money can’t buy and chefs can’t create. A perfect, lightly salted blackberry. You can’t make them; it has to come with time and nature. They’re a gift, when you think summer’s over, and all the good stuff has all gone. They’re a gift.”
I love this piece because it makes me ponder on the power of savouring and knowing the right moment, the moment between too fresh or too far gone, letting our insticts and natures’ way to collide. Knowing the natural course of things…. Knowing the power of the sea.
Thanks for reading. What do you feel grateful for? What did you love last week?
