Watermelon Weekly Wrap #7

Hello Warriors,
Happy New Week, Happy New Month and hope you had a great bank holiday weekend if you are in the UK. Welcome to WWW edition #7

I hope you’ve had a week of growth and that you are doing things that you love.

Every week, I round up the favourite things I’m experiencing, listening to, tasting, noticing, reading…

EXPERIENCING

On Tuesday morning, I was walking along and was struck by the beauty of this corner.

London does this to me on the reg. Love you LDN. (below)

On Sunday I went back to Darvina Plante’s class - upside down again, can’t get enough.

I’m getting topsy-turvy any chance I get.

She teaches inversions at Triyoga in Shoreditch.

I also loved this video, if you have 10 mins and your goal is to get better at handstands, give it a go!

Before the class, I led my last #SundayReset, session 10. Click the button below to go check it out.

LISTENING

My sister suggested I listen to this podcast below, I love both the Armchair Expert pod and Cillian Murphy so this was a massage for my ears! Listen below or wherever you like to listen… Cillian Murphy seems to me, an example of a true gentleman. Humble, thoughtful, talented and intelligent.

TASTING

Nut Roast from the Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington

Had been to the Jolly Butcher’s for a drink before, was so looking forward to coming back to try the roast.
This was my reward for my week’s work, I really felt I deserved it haha.

GRATITUDE

On Friday, I lost my friend and first client Richard. It broke me.

My love and thoughts go out to his amazing wife Ciara and his lovely daughters Emily, Victoria and Rachel.
Richard’s strength, hard work ethic and excitement for the gift of being alive were so inspiring to me.

I am immensely grateful to have met him and spent time in the presence of his beautiful spirit.

Thank you for the memories Richard, I will cherish you in my heart and mind, forever.

READING

I finally finished “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel van der Kolk, perhaps it needs its own post.

It is a life changing book that I recommend to everyone.

I started “Games People Play” more on that soon…

PIECE OF THE WEEK

“I’m still here.”

- Richard, every time he answered the phone to me.

“This being human is a guest house. Every morning is a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor...Welcome and entertain them all. Treat each guest honorably. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”

-Rumi

Thanks for reading. What do you feel grateful for? What did you love last week?
